BC Families in Transition is one of only 3 non-profit agencies in North America that offers professional counselling and legal support for families and family members who are having serious problems in their relationships.
After 30 years in business we serve not only the entire community of Greater Victoria but also many people from up-island, the lower mainland, and even far across BC and across Canada through our telephone support.
Altogether we serve 10,000 people per year of all ages and all walks of life through family changes, separations and divorces, remarriages and blended family situations, and so on. Of particular importance is the fact that many families who come to us expecting they will have to separate actually end up staying together, as a result of the good counselling they obtain at our centre.
Over the last year we've significantly broadened our mandate to be able to help families stay together if that's what they wish to do. We've also added various new services such as play therapy for children, counselling in the evenings, and group legal information sessions, as part of our rapid growth as an agency over the last year.
